Grade 6 – Study your Latin vocabulary and endings for a quiz on Friday. Write the rough draft of your paper on the following question: What is an American patriot? Why should I try to be one? Incorporate what you've learned about about Greek or Roman or French patriotism through our reading. Use quotes and examples. Read Chapter XI, “The Hundred Days” aloud to an adult and have them sign your reading log.

Grade 7 - Study your Latin vocabulary and endings for a quiz on Friday. If you have not yet turned in your interpretation of a Tempest quote, do so tomorrow. Write a page explaining the following from Chapter VIII, "India", in My Early Life. Use short quotes and examples:

Describe Churchill's injury and how he got it. What was the long-term result? Explain what Churchill means when he says, "...you never can tell whether bad luck may not after all turn out to be good luck."

Finish reading Chapter VIII (p. 104-108) aloud to an adult and have them sign your reading log.

Grade 8 - Study your Latin vocabulary and endings for a quiz on Friday. Read Chaps. 13 and 14 in Pride and Prejudice aloud to an adult and have them sign your reading log. Write a page explaining the following comment by Mr. Bennet in Chapter 14 (p. 69):

"It is happy for you that you possess the talent of flattering with delicacy. May I ask whether these pleasing attentions proceed from the impulse of the moment, or are the result of previous study?"
