Grade 6 – Study your Latin vocabulary. Finish reading Chapter XIX, “The Treasure Cave” (from the middle of page 141) in The Count of Monte Cristo aloud to an adult, and have them sign your reading log. Answer the following study questions:
1. How does Dantés get to Monte Cristo?
2. How does he get the crew to leave him behind?
3. Of what does the treasure consist?
Grade 7 - Study your Latin vocabulary and endings. Write a paragraph on the second of the three topic sentences you wrote supporting your thesis. Read Chap. XII, “The Tirah Expedition” in My Early Life aloud 20 minutes to an adult. Have them sign your reading log.
Grade 8 - Study your Latin vocabulary. Read Chap. 23 in Vol. 1 and Chap. 1 in Vol. 2 in Pride and Prejudice aloud to an adult, and have them sign your reading log. Write a paragraph on why the other characters in the book think Mr. Collins is boring. Use examples and quotes from the book.
