Grade 6 – Study your Latin vocabulary. Finish reading Chapter XLII, “The Dinner”, in The Count of Monte Cristo aloud to an adult, and have them sign your reading log, which I will check tomorrow. As you read, find the answers to the following study questions (you do not have to write the answers down, but you will have to answer some of these questions tomorrow in class):
1. Chapter XLII: Who attends the dinner at the Count’s house?
2. Who are the Cavalcantis?
3. What does the Count do to impress his guests?
4. In whom is Danglars interested?
Grade 7 - Study your Latin vocabulary. Write the third supporting paragraph of the paper on Churchill’s escape from the Boers. Finish reading Chapter XXIV, “Spion Kop” in My Early Life aloud to an adult, and have them sign your reading log, which I will check tomorrow. Be ready to answer the following study questions in class:
1. What is Spion Kop?
2. What was the result of the battle to hold Spion Kop?
Grade 8 - Study your Latin vocabulary and endings. Make a keyword outline of the “The National Liberation Front” portion of your history handout. Read Chapters 12 and 13 in Vol. 3 in Pride and Prejudice aloud to an adult, and have them sign your reading log, which I will check tomorrow. Be ready to answer questions about the chapters in class tomorrow morning.
