Grade 8 - Study your Latin vocabulary and endings. Write a paragraph describing the importance of the 13th, 14th, and 15th Constitutional amendments to the Civil Rights movement of the 1950s and ‘60s. Work on your civil rights time line, due next Monday, March 31st. Read Chapters 7 and 8 in Vol. 2 in Pride and Prejudice aloud to an adult, and have them sign your reading log. Answer the following study question:

1. Like Mr. Collins, Lady Catherine is a comic figure. Both characters, however, are more than a source of humor. How does Jane Austen use them to criticize the silliness of class distinctions?
