Grade 6 - Study Latin vocabulary and word endings. Read aloud to an adult twenty minutes from The Count of Monte Cristo, beginning at Chapter 2. Draw a scene, and color it, from ONE of the two myths we read today in class: "Daphne and Apollo" OR "Echo and Narcissus".

Grade 7 - Study Latin vocabulary and word endings. Read aloud Chapter II in My Early Life. Write a 1/2 page answering the following questions:

1. Churchill flunked his entrance exam to Harrow. Why was he still able to attend school there? (pp. 15-16)
2. What examination did Churchill succeed in passing? How did this happen? (pp. 18-19)

Grade 8 - Study Latin vocabulary and word endings. Read aloud Chapter I in Pride and Prejudice. In a 1/2 page (typed) or full page (cursive) response, answer the following study question:

"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife." What does this mean? What tone is Jane Austin setting for the rest of her novel?
